Essential Duties and Responsibilities

STS Academy’s mission as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization is to strengthen our communities by providing children and youth opportunities to achieve self-enhancing academic and career success through programs and services that bridge shortfalls in their formal learning. We achieve our mission through partnerships with parents, community organizations, businesses and schools.



STS Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and direction for our organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the mission, vision and goals of the nonprofit are achieved and will serve as the primary liaison between STS Academy and its stakeholders.


Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors to achieve STS Academy’s mission and goals.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to staff, volunteers, and partners to create a shared vision for the future.

Fundraising & Development

  • Oversee fundraising efforts, including grant writing, individual giving and fundraising events.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors and grantors.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage STS Academy’s budget in collaboration with the Board.
  • Ensure STS Academy’s financial sustainability through sound financial practices.

Program Management

  • Oversee and support the program staff in the successful implementation of programs and services.
  • Monitor program outcomes and impact.

Board Relations

  • Engage with the Board of Directors, provide regular updates and work closely with board committees.
  • Support the recruitment and orientation of new board members.

Community Engagement

  • Represent the organization in the community, cultivating partnerships and promoting STS Academy’s mission.
  • Advocate for the organization and the communities it serves.


  • Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee staff management, including hiring, training and performance evaluations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven leadership and management experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising, grant writing and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to STS Academy’s mission and values.
