About us

STS Academy is a CBO providing services to the East Contra Costa area for 20 years.  Our organization has been specializing in childcare, community service, supplemental education programs and services.  We have added Mental Health services to our organization and are looking to partner qualified psychotherapists with STS and Partnered Community Agencies that align with their skills and values. We are dedicated to supporting mental health professionals in finding fulfilling opportunities that make a positive impact on the lives of their clients.

This position offers very competitive pay. This position will be 1099 status only.

Behavior Technician (BT) Job Description:

  • We are hiring both, aspiring and experienced behavior Therapists in East Contra Costa County area
  • Therapists are to work with children in their homes, schools, or the East Contra Costa County area, helping them learn how to communicate, play, and learn
  • Learn directly from Board Certified Behavior Analysts how to provide therapy to children and families in need of support
  • Follow and utilize the plans a Board Certified Behavior Analyst will create, and supervise behavior intervention plans with the family
  • Teach communication skills, social skills, self-help skills, and play skills through Applied Behavior Analysis principles
  • Teach, learn and play with our clients to help them reach their highest potential
  • Accurately record treatment data and complete client documentation on a daily basis
  • Engage in and ensure client safety
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clients and professional conduct at all times
  • Work as a team and collaborate with team members

 

Qualifications High school or equivalent required. BA in Education or Psychology preferred. Behavior Technician qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, and an interest in working with children with special needs
  • ABA Therapy experience/ Registered Behavior Therapists preferred but not required
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Enjoy working with, caring for, and having fun with children.
  • Outgoing and a positive attitude
  • Able to receive ongoing feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Want to work as a team with your peers
  • Desire to build a career working with children
 
  • Behavior Technician Requirements: 
 
  • Proven ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Experience in applied settings with vulnerable populations, such as individuals on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disability
  • Clear background check
  • 3 Verifiable work references
  • Reliable form of transportation
